Evaluation of tribological behavior of B4C-hBN ceramic composites under water-lubricated condition EI SCIE Scopus

Abstract :

The aim of this study is to evaluate the influence of hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) addition on the tribological behavior of B4C-based ceramic composites under distilled water lubrication. Water-lubricated sliding tests of hot-pressed B4C-hBN ceramic composites with different hBN amounts against pure B4C ceramic were carried out on a pin-disc type wear apparatus. It was found that the addition of hBN into B4C ceramic matrix resulted in a severe decrease of the friction coefficient from 0.373 for B4C/B4C sliding pair to 0.005 for B4C-20 wt% hBN/B4C sliding pair. A B2O3 tribochemical film formed on the worn surface of the B4C-hBN specimen protected both B4C-hBN and B4C and facilitated the frictional surfaces to smooth. Therefore, the tribological behaviors of the pairs were significantly improved. The formation process of the film and its antifriction mechanism are discussed. Abstract :

In order to clarify the effect of hBN on the tribological properties of B4C ceramic, dry sliding friction and wear characteristics of hot pressed B4C-hBN composites containing different hBN amounts have been investigated in air environment using a pin-on-disc tribometer. Experimental results showed that the friction and wear behaviors of the composites were strongly dependent on the hBN content. An optimum content of hBN for the best tribological behaviors was obtained. The addition of hBN into B4C resulted in a significant decrease of the friction coefficient, from 0.586 for B4C against B4C to 0.179 for B4C-20 wt%hBN composite against B4C, which could be attributed to the formation of an H3BO3 lubricating film on the worn surface of the B4C-hBN specimen. Abstract :

To improve the operation efficiency of hybrid power in electric vehicle and ensure the safety of its batteries, a novel hybrid power configuration is proposed, which can achieve the function of ultra-capacitors/batteries (UC/Batteries) and batteries/UC (Batteries/UC) configurations of hybrid power by controlling selector switches and DC-DC converter. On this basis, seven operation schemes of hybrid power is devised, and the parameter matching of hybrid power system is fulfilled according to the effective operation voltages of lithium batteries and motor and the power demand characteristics of motor in SD-EV test vehicle. Then the power distribution strategies for different operation schemes are put forward based on power balance control rule with considerations of the efficiency of DC-DC converter and the SOCs of lithium batteries and UC. The results of simulation with Matlab/Simulink show that the novel hybrid power can operate with many schemes, effectively enhance the efficiency of hybrid power and ensure the charging-discharging safety of lithium batteries, while the results of verification test with tester built indicate that the overall efficiency of novel hybrid power is 9% and 4% higher than that of UC/Batteries hybrid power and Batteries/UC one respectively. ©, 2015, SAE-China. Abstract :

A battery model with adaptive parameters based on equivalent circuit is proposed to solve the problems that it is complex to identify the parameters of a battery model online and errors of the battery model will dramatically enlarge while the parameters of the battery model varies. An observer with adaptive parameters for batteries is designed and is proved to be stable. Parameters are estimated and filtered online by the observer and a moving average filter, respectively. The battery model is periodically updated by previously estimated parameters. Then, the extended Kalman filtering algorithm is adopted to estimate the state of charge (SOC) of the battery. An experimental platform is constructed, and the urban dynamometer driving schedule (UDDS) driving cycle is used to test the algorithm. The results show that the error of SOC estimation based on the proposed model and the dynamic Kalman filter is less than 3%. It can be concluded that the algorithm is accurate and has great value to monitor power batteries in changeful environment. © 2015, Editorial Office of Journal of Xi'an Jiaotong University. Abstract :

为提高电动汽车复合电源工作效率和保证电池组安全,提出了一种新型复合电源结构,通过对切换开关和DC-DC的控制,实现UC/Batteries和Batteries/UC两种复合电源结构的功能.在此基础上,设计了新型复合电源的7种工作方案,并根据SD-EV试验样车的锂电池组与电机的工作电压和电机功率需求特性完成系统的参数匹配.考虑DC-DC效率、锂电池组SOC和超级电容SOC等因素,基于功率平衡控制规则提出了不同工作方案的功率分配策略.在Matlab/Simulink中的仿真结果显示,新型复合电源能多方案工作,并有效提高复合电源工作效率和保证锂电池组的充放电安全;而搭建试验台进行验证测试的结果表明,与UC/Batteries和Batteries/UC复合电源相比,新型复合电源的综合效率分别提高了9%和4%.

Abstract :

针对后轮独立驱动轻型低速电动汽车协调控制问题,以阿克曼转向为基础建立了电子差速控制模型.CANoe-MATLAB接口软件可以整合CANoe和MATLAB的优势,在SIMULINK中将所建立的差速模型用对应的CAN模块进行封装,并自动生成执行代码.同时,在CANoe中建立电子差速与电机通信的CAN网络,将生成的DLL文件加载到CANoe电子差速节点中进行仿真验证.结果表明,该电子差速控制模型能够完成轻型低速电动汽车的差速功能.同时,验证了整个控制网络的有效性、实时性和准确性.该方法具有一定的扩展性,能够在开发实际控制器之前验证控制算法的正确性.

Design of a Novel Hybrid Power for EV EI CPCI-S Scopus

Abstract :

A novel high efficient hybrid power with ultra-capacitor (UC) for electric vehicle (EV) is proposed in this paper. On this basis, the energy management strategies are designed according to various work modes of the EV. Two switch schemes could be achieved in the proposed hybrid power while discharging, and the UC would have the highest priority to recycle the energy in the recharge scheme. Simulation results show that the over-discharge of the batteries could be avoid and efficiency could be improved up to 3.5% in the proposed hybrid power, comparing to the equally improved hybrid power.

Abstract :

A fuzzy control system for the direct yaw moment of four-wheel drive electric vehicles is proposed to improve vehicle's steering stability. The upper layer of the controller is a fuzzy PI controller, and uses the deviation between actual value and reference of side slip angle and yaw rate to calculate the desired yaw moment. The lower layer of the controller effectively distributes the required yaw moment to each wheel following fuzzy logic rules based on the contribution of each wheel to the yaw moment and the driving limit of the vehicle. Moreover, the control algorithm is rapidly developed and verified in V mode: a vehicle model with the proposed control system is established and downloaded into the AD5435 simulator to conduct a hardware-in-the-loop test. Simulation results show that the proposed control system can effectively improve vehicle's handling and stability in different situations, and that the control algorithm is feasible and effective.

Abstract :

From the analysis on the principle and performance of the rotor speed and the position identification using the improved model reference adaptive system and fluctuating high frequency voltage signal injection, a hybrid of sensorless technique for PMSM(permanent magnet synchronous motor) in the wide-speed-range was presented. The hybrid control strategy can switch smoothly between the two methods by using a hysteresis weight switch-over strategy. The hybrid controller not only overcomes the steady-state error of fluctuating high frequency voltage signal injection at high speeds but also reduces the unacceptable error of the improved model reference adaptive system at zero and low speeds. The experiment results show that the hybrid control method can precisely identify the rotor speed and position, and it has quicker dynamic response and strong robustness. The results of this study may be beneficial to the research on the sensorless control strategy for PMSM with wide-speed-range.
