Abstract ：
In view of the situation that telephones, CATVs are more and more popular in modem families, this paper puts forward a new scheme of multimedia communication network named Coordinating Network which integrates Telephone network, CATV network, Local Area Computer network (LAN) reasonably. It can be achieved in the near future, and intends to meet the offices and families' need of the multimedia information at the least cost, offers an economical, efficiency and feasible solution for "the last mile" of the Information Superhighway. This paper emphatically discusses Coordinating Network in respect of the principle, functions and performance etc..

Abstract ：
Access network is a very import but still uncertain problem in the research of "information superhighway," and its research work is in progress today. Based on thorough studying of PSTN and CATV, we propose the Multiple Network Coordinating Technique in this article as a solution to the access problem. With Multiple Network Coordinating Technique, present PSTN, CATV and computer network are combined into a single net. We called it Coordinating Network, which offers consumers interactive multimedia information, such as text, voice, pictures and moving image. Compared with other solutions, Multiple Network Coordinating Technique has many advantages, such as economy, flexibility and easy to realize, ect., therefore, it is much suitable for family consumers of today's China.
