Abstract :
It is an effective approach to regulate the structure of photocatalysts by introducing the heteroatoms into the lattice for extended light absorption and enhanced charge separation. In this work, the P atoms were introduced to substitute the corner C atoms of g-C3N4 by calcinating the melamine-phytic acid derived supramolecular with high-density phosphate groups, which is synthesized by hydrothermal method. The intermediate state produced by the introduction of P atoms leads to the enhanced light absorption of P–CN(7.2g-IP6) with a negative shifted conduction band position, which benefits the photocatalytic hydrogen reaction kinetically. Moreover, the electron transferred from P atom to the surrounding N atoms results in the positively charged P center, which could act as Lewis acid site. Such formed Lewis acid site at positively charged P center together with the Lewis base sites, such as amine or imine groups in P–CN, makes it easier to separate photogenerated charges, thus enabling the P–CN(7.2g-IP6) to exhibit an enhanced photocatalytic hydrogen rate of 2.743 mmol·g−1·h−1, which is about 6.77 times that of pristine g-C3N4 (0.405 mmol·g−1·h−1). This work provides an alternative approach to regulating the structure of photocatalysts. © 2022 Hydrogen Energy Publications LLC

Abstract :
Vertigo is a leading symptom of various peripheral and central vestibular disorders. Although genome-wide association studies (GWASs) have identified multiple risk variants for vertigo, how these risk variants contribute to the risk of vertigo remains unknown. Discovery proteome-wide association study (PWAS) was first performed by integrating the protein quantitative trait loci from the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) in the Banner Sun Health Research Institute dataset (n = 152) and GWAS summary of vertigo (n = 942 613), followed by replication PWAS using the protein quantitative trait loci from the DLPFC in Religious Orders Study or the Rush Memory and Aging Project dataset (n = 376). Transcriptome-wide association studies (TWASs) were then performed by integrating the same GWAS datasets of vertigo (n = 942 613) with mRNA expression reference from human fetal brain, and DLPFC. Chemical-related gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) and Gene ontology/Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway enrichment analyses were finally conducted to further reveal the pathogenesis of vertigo. Permutation-based empirical P values were calculated in PWAS, TWAS, and GSEA. By integrating the GWAS of vertigo and two independent brain proteomes from human DLPFC, three genes were identified to genetically regulate protein abundance levels in vertigo, and were not previously implicated by GWAS, including MTERFD2 (PBanner = 0.045, PROSMAP = 0.031), MGST1 (PBanner = 0.014, PROSMAP = 0.018), and RAB3B (PBanner = 0.045, PROSMAP = 0.035). Compared with TWAS results, we identified overlapping genes RAB3B (PTWAS = 0.017) and MTERFD2 (PTWAS = 0.003) that showed significant associations with vertigo at both proteome-wide and transcriptome-wide levels. Chemical-related GSEA identified multiple chemicals that might be associated with vertigo, such as nickel (P = 0.007), glycidamide (P = 0.005), and proanthocyanidins (P = 0.015). Our study provides novel clues for understanding the biological mechanism of vertigo, and highlights several possible risks and therapeutic chemicals for vertigo. © 2022 The Author(s). Abstract :
In view of the large scale and distributed characteristics of transformers, which lead to inconvenient manual inspection and state monitoring, and the limited energy of batteries restricting the development of wireless sensor nodes (WSNs), WSNs powered by solar energy are a promising approach. We propose a power management circuit for dual energy storage and dual-channel charging of a supercapacitor and a lithium battery with four modes to deal with the different charging currents of photovoltaic power generation under strong and weak light illumination, as well as the time mismatch between the energy harvesting power and WSN consumption power. We designed a low-power WSN with temperature, humidity, vibration, and illumination sensors in a low-duty-cycle operation mode with an average current consumption of 4.96 mA. Our solar power management circuit with undervoltage lockout (UVLO), maximum power point tracking (MPPT), quick charging, and a sustainable output characteristic is designed by LTspice simulation and verified by experiment in alternating light outdoors. The experiment demonstrates sustainable autonomous wireless sensing by dual charging and the feasibility of our storage design for solar energy harvesting, indicating its potential application in grid transformers. © MYU K.K.

Abstract :
The nano-step height reference materials can deliver accurate and traceable nanometer height characteristic parameters. To investigate the fabrication technique of high-quality sub-50 nm step height reference materials in China, a method based on atomic layer deposition combined with wet etching is proposed. The sub-50 nm step height reference materials with a minimum height of only 5 nm are fabricated through process optimization, which achieves the precise control of the step height in the order of the sub-nanometer. The calibration results are traceable to the national meter-defined wavelength reference, and the extended uncertainty is less than 2.0 nm. Meanwhile, the reference materials has excellent uniformity and stability, and the consistency level of different measurement instruments is quite high. The results show that the nano-step height reference materials can be used for transmission of sub-50 nm height values and comparative measurement between multiple instruments. The prospect of their industrialized production will also provide a perfect metrology guarantee for the semiconductor industry. © 2022, Science Press. All right reserved.

Abstract :
Objectives: Coffee and tea intake might be associated with psychiatry diseases. However, it is unclear whether the effect of coffee/tea on anxiety and depression depending on the different types of proteins. Design: This was a cross-sectional study. Setting: Our datasets were downloaded from online. Participants: Phenotypic and genotypic data for coffee intake(N=376,196) and tea intake (N=376,078) were derived from UK Biobank. GWAS data of proteins (N=1,537) from neurologically relevant tissues (brain, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and plasma) were obtained from a recently published study. Measurements: Multivariate linear analysis was then used to evaluate the potential interaction effect between coffee/tea intake and proteins polygenetic risk score (PRS) on the risks of anxiety and depression controlling for age, sex, Townsend deprivation index (TDI), smoke, drinking and education level. Results: 34 coffee intake-proteins interactions and 15 tea intake-proteins interactions were observed in anxiety individuals, such as coffee intake-c-Jun interaction (β=0.0169, P=4.131×10−3), coffee intake-Fas interaction (β=−0.0190, P=8.132×10−4), tea intake-sL-Selectin interaction (β=0.0112, P=5.412×10−3) and tea intake-IL-1F6 (β=0.0083, P=4.471×10−2). 25 coffee intake-proteins and 14 tea intake-proteins interactions were observed in depression individuals, including coffee intake- IL-1 sRI (β=0.0171, P=4.888×10−3) and coffee intake-NXPH1 interaction (β=0.0156, P=9.819×10−3), tea intake-COLEC12 interaction (β=0.0127, P=3.280×10−3), and tea intake-Layilin interaction (β=0.0117, P=7.926×10−3). Conclusions: Our results suggested the important role of multiple proteins in neurologically relevant tissues in the associations between coffee/tea intake and psychiatry diseases, providing entry points to explore the mechanisms underlying anxiety and depression. © 2022, Serdi and Springer-Verlag International SAS, part of Springer Nature.

Abstract :
Revealing the correlation between polarization curve and input parameters is a highly concerned topic in proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) research. Till now, three-dimensional (3D) numerical models have been the most comprehensive methods to predict the polarization curve under variational conditions. However, due to the diversity and complexity of the parameters involved, an immense numerical or experimental burden is required to obtain the above-referred correlation based on 3D numerical model. Application of the similarity theory is considered as a promising breakthrough in PEMFC research to obtain generalized and compact laws. Activation criterion, a relative magnitude of the effect of temperature on electrochemical reaction rate versus the effect of activation overpotential, is the most important criterion on the PEMFC performance. Revealing its impact on the dimensionless polarization curve in the aspects of slope, intercept, and curvature is one of the major challenges for further investigation. Herein, a projection diagram is proposed to determine polarization curves under variation of activation criterion using similarity theory based on a series of results with other criteria variation. As a validation of the concept, two scenarios are exhibited by numerical approach. Results suggest that the maximum relative deviation of polarization curves predicted by the projection diagram is 0.14%, which reaches a high accuracy. The projection diagram reveals the reason why the activation criterion has a comprehensive and complex impact on the dimensionless polarization curve. © 2022 American Chemical Society. Abstract :
Habitual coffee consumption is an addictive behavior with unknown genetic variations and has raised public health issues about its potential health-related outcomes. We performed exome-wide association studies to identify rare risk variants contributing to habitual coffee consumption utilizing the newly released UK Biobank exome dataset (n = 200,643). A total of 34,761 qualifying variants were imported into SKAT to conduct gene-based burden and robust tests with minor allele frequency <0.01, adjusting the polygenic risk scores (PRS) of coffee intake to exclude the effect of common coffee-related polygenic risk. The gene-based burden and robust test of the exonic variants found seven exome-wide significant associations, such as OR2G2 (PSKAT = 1.88 × 10−9, PSKAT-Robust = 2.91 × 10−17), VEZT1 (PSKAT = 3.72 × 10−7, PSKAT-Robust = 1.41 × 10−7), and IRGC (PSKAT = 2.92 × 10−5, PSKAT-Robust = 1.07 × 10−7). These candidate genes were verified in the GWAS summary data of coffee intake, such as rs12737801 (p = 0.002) in OR2G2, and rs34439296 (p = 0.008) in IRGC. This study could help to extend genetic insights into the pathogenesis of coffee addiction, and may point to molecular mechanisms underlying health effects of habitual coffee consumption. © 2022 by the authors.
