Abstract :

Motion perception is one of the most important aspect of the biological visual system, from which we get a lot of information of the natural world. In this paper, trying to simulate the neurons in MT (motion area in visual cortex) who respond selectively both in direction and speed, we propose a novel multiplicative inhibitory velocity detector (MIVD) model, whose spatiotemporal joint parameter K determines its optimal velocity. Based on the Response Amplitude Disparity (RAD) property of MIVD, we build two multi-velocity fusion neural networks (a simple one and an active one) to detect the velocity of 1-Dimension motion. The experiments show that the active MIVD Neural Network with a feedback fusion method has a relative better result.

Abstract :

We stabilized the unstable equilibrium state of a chaotic network by a small external signal. The network has The first-order and second-order, random and diluted connections, and its dynamics can be stable, periodic and chaotic for different values of parameters. The famous OGY method for controlling the chaos is applied to the evolution equation of the network. The controlling algorithm is efficient and convenient. when the algorithm is used to the chaotic network, the iterating sequence is stabilized at the equilibrium point after several iterations and it becomes chaotic again when the control is disabled, as shown by the numerical experiments. The control process can be regarded as the information integration between the network modules while the controlling signal being regarded as the information from other modules. A two-module architecture for information integration is proposed based on the controlling method.

Abstract :

The influences of monomeric unit, filler and technology on polymeric composite (Polyethylene/Carbon Black) were investigated in this paper. For monomeric unit, some polymer and polymeric blend were compared. The polymeric blend, LLDPE/silane, were selected for its goon stability. It was found that with the existence of little DCP, a silane-g-PE structure can be produced by melt reaction. This structure can strengthen the twines of molecular chain of LLDPE, restrict the conglomeration of carbon black particles. And then improve the stability of material. In addition, carbon blacks that were used as conductive filler were also investigated. The results shows that mixture of different carbon blacks with different diameter can improve the stability of this kind of material.

Abstract :

Non-uniqueness of the tree representations is a well-known problem in feature extraction from the output of a CSG solid modelling system, Three main causes of the problem ate examined and the most commonly occured one is dealt with in this paper. Based on the achievement of position relationships between orthogonal primitive objects, an approach for solving the non-uniqueness steming from multiple definitions for an identical object is detailed, To demonstrate die methodology of the approach, an object with the machining feature of a square slot is illustrated.

Effect of molecular structure of polymer on viscoelastic properties in BaTiO3/polymer composite systems EI CPCI-S Scopus

Abstract :

The effects of molecular structure of polymers on visoelastic properties in BaTiO3/polymer composite systems were investigated by using dynamic mechanical-analysis (DMA), and the dispersion of the BaTiO3 particles in different polymer matrices was observed by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Experimental results showed that the effects of molecular structure of polymers on viscoelastic properties in BaTiO3/polymer composite systems are very great.

Abstract :

The being of gradient PTCR Polymer Material as a temperature transducer has been introduced in this paper. Its functional mechanism and the reasonability for measuring temperature on-line HV equipments has been discussed as well. This paper also provided the principle of measuring circuit which uses infrared light for transmitting information, some experimental results of the main part of this device are shown. At last, the possibility of this non-contact measuring method applied to GIS, Cubicle and other electrical equipments are presented.

Abstract :

This paper focuses on the effects of nitrogen ion implantation on performance of Ag-plated contacts in a connector. The implant energy is 32-40 keV and implanted doses are between 1 similar to 4 x 10(17) ions/cm(2). The wear abrasion and friction tests were made on implanted and unimplanted contacts with an insertion-withdrawl testing apparatus. Moreover, in order to know the anticorrosion ability of the contacts, the diluted sulfuric acid corrosion taste were also made for those specimens. Surface hardness as well as contact resistance were measured during experiments. With the implanted contacts, the performance was found more stable and better than those unimplanted. By means of SEM micrographs, the paper attempts to explain the mechanisms of the wear resistance, stability of contact resistance, and anticorrosion in implanted contacts. It has been shown that it is a very promising way to improve properties of Ag-plated contacts by ion implantation.
