Hybrid communication assisted by coherent oscillator using resonant excitation of Nitrogen-vacancy center in diamond EI SCIE

Abstract :

We propose the multi-channel hybrid communication assisted by a coherent oscillator, by configuring the diamond Nitrogen-vacancy center using spontaneous parametric four-wave mixing. For one-channel hybrid communication, composite signal of fluorescence (information) and Stokes (carrier) is sent to the receiver; information is recovered by subtracting intensities of composite signal and reference coherent signal (from coherent oscillator) at demodulator. Further, we achieved two-channel and three-channel hybrid communication through two-mode and three-mode intensity-noise correlation, respectively. Two-mode correlation of hybrid signal (produced through photon subtraction) and anti-Stokes demonstrates the nonclassical behavior by violating Cauchy-Schwarz inequality, verified through corresponding squeezing (-5 dB). Such phenomenon of non-classical behavior was also verified by non-Gaussian negativity of Wigner function. Our hybrid communication model is based on temporal width- and coherence time-contrast, which can be controlled by wavelength (power) of input beams. The coherence time-contrast is about 90%.

Collective multipartite Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen steering via cascaded four-wave mixing of rubidium atoms EI SCIE

Abstract :

Collective multipartite Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) steering is a type of quantum correlation shared among n parties, where the EPR paradox of one party can be realized only by performing local measurements on all the remaining n - 1 parties. Here, we propose an efficient method to produce collective multipartite EPR steering via symmetrically and asymmetrically cascading parametric amplification processes, i.e., four-wave mixing (FWM) of rubidium atoms. The simplified collective-steering criterion is introduced using the Coffman-Kundu-Wootters monogamy relation. Moreover, by actively adjusting the parametric gains, the collective EPR steerability is optimized in our schemes. We find that the scale of collective steering can be extended by cascading more FWMs; in particular, introducing optical loss is useful for generating collective steering with more parties only in the asymmetry structure. Our results pave the way for the construction of quantum networks and provide a promising candidate for one-sided device-independent quantum cryptography among multiple users.

Abstract :

We study the temporal and spectral oscillation originated from the interference between the fluorescence (FL) and spontaneous parametric four-wave mixing (SP-FWM) signals. The FL and SP-FWM are generated from different phases of Eu3+ or Pr3+ doped YPO4 under the nonlinear SP-FWM process. We discuss and compare the spectral interfering oscillations and self-Rabi oscillations controlled via multiple phase transitions (hexagonal-phase and mixed-phase) of Eu3+: YPO4 and Pr3+: YPO4 . The coexistence mechanism of interference and self-oscillations in time domain is also investigated. Further, we discuss the cross-Rabi oscillation in correlated light beams, which evolves from FL signal (having Sinc profile) to SP-FWM (having Cosine profile) in the hybrid signal regime. Based on these results, we have realized wavelength division multiplexing, and temporal amplifier with the temporal interference being controlled by the gate position, and frequency detuning. Dressing-Shaped Rabi Oscillation of Photon Pairs in Hot Atomic Ensemble EI

Abstract :

The nonclassical states of light serve as potential candidates for emerging quantum information processes. A quantum information unit with higher information capacity is interesting and useful in large quantum information systems, such as quantum computations. The most mature way to increase information capacity is to employ a post-selection or cascaded method with the biphoton state and polarizing beam splitters to increase the qubits of the entangled state. Another promising processing is shaping the temporal correlations of entangled state to high-dimensional entangled states to increase the superposed states of each qubit. Based on the photon pair state in a hot atomic ensemble, experiments are conducted to shape its temporal correlations to multi-periodic Rabi oscillations and nonlinear phase shifts. By employing the external dressing field to quantum transitions, the nonlinear interaction produces multiple frequency modes, shaping the temporal correlation of photon pairs to multi-periodic Rabi oscillation and proposing a 3D energy–time-entangled qubit for photon pair state. Interestingly, the maximum peak of the periodic Rabi oscillation can migrate with a longer correlation time because of a nonlinear phase shift. Wave shaping of the photon pair state, therefore, has the potential for applications in quantum information processes with higher information capacity and quantum memory. © 2020 Wiley-VCH GmbH

Abstract :

Multipartite quantum correlation plays a vital role in potential applications of quantum technologies. In this paper, using energy-level cascaded four-wave mixing (EC-FWM) process, a scheme to produce quantum correlated three-mode light beams within a single device of hot atomic medium of rubidium is proposed. Two- and three-mode amplitude, phase quadrature squeezing and intensity difference squeezing using energy-level simultaneous cascaded FWM (ESC-FWM) method and energy-level ordinal cascaded FWM (EOC-FWM) method, respectively, is theoretically reported. Via investigating their covariance matrix properties, the comparison has been made between the two methods, which shows the ESC-FWM method has a more stable mode structure than EOC-FWM method. Moreover, versatile gain dependent squeezing via EC-FWM is studied and analytical expressions are given. These results show a simplified and efficient experimental scheme producing multipartite quantum correlation among multiple spatially separated beams.

Shaping the Temporal Waveform of Tri-Photon with Double-Dressing EI SCIE

Abstract :

Here, a method to generate and shape the tri-photon entanglement in the temporal domain via simplified single step of six-wave mixing processes of hot atomic gas media is proposed. The effect of dressing fields on shaping the tri-photon temporal waveform is discussed. Cascade double dressing fields will reduce the width of rectangular profile of tri-photon waveform when compared to the single dressing field. Conversely, nested double dressing fields will widen the width of rectangular profile of tri-photon waveform. The double dressing field will affect the coherence time of linear optical response. The relationship between phase matching bandwidth and electromagnetically induced transparency bandwidth will decide the shape of temporal waveform and coherence time in linear optical response. The transition of nonlinear optical response to linear optical response can be completed by regulating the dressing fields. The results of this proposed study have potential impact on long-distance quantum communication, high-dimensional entanglement, and photon storage.

Transport of light in a moving photonic lattice via atomic coherence EI SCIE

In this Letter, we have investigated experimentally the photonic realization of a moving lattice with an instantaneously tunable transverse velocity in a three-level A-type warm Rb-85 atomic medium. The dynamic photonic lattice moving along the direction of its spatial periodicity was constructed by introducing a frequency difference (determining the velocity) between two coupling beams, whose interference pattern could optically induce a (spatial) periodic refractive index change inside the atomic vapor under electromagnetically induced transparency. When a Gaussian probe field is launched into this optically induced lattice, the output diffraction patterns can shift along the transverse direction, indicating dynamical features of induced photonic structures. The realization of this effectively controllable moving photonic lattice provides a new platform for guiding the transport of light. (C) 2021 Optical Society of America

Coherent Control of Multiphoton Using Multidressing Fields SCIE

Abstract :

The competition and coexistence between linear and nonlinear multiphoton optical responses in multidressing fields; these exhibit shaping temporal waveforms is investigated. In the group delay regime, the width of the rectangular profile in double-dressing fields is reduced compared to that of the single-dressing field. In the Rabi oscillation regime, the number of periods in double-dressing fields increases relative to the single-dressing field, and the tri- and quadphotons are observed to feature six and nine coherent channels, respectively. Finally, changing the optical depth and power of the dressing field can alter the optical response. Compared with the single-dressing field, cascaded and nested double-dressing fields reduce the linear coherence time and increase the number of periods; this is useful for photon storage and long-distance communication. Moreover, increasing the number of dressing coherent channels increases the high-dimensional entangled information capacity, which is more conducive to the realization of quantum communication and quantum networks.

Abstract :

Lithium is a major psychiatric medication, especially as long-term maintenance medication for Bipolar Disorder. Despite its effectiveness, lithium has side-effects, such as on renal function. In this study, lithium was administered to adult rats. This animal model of renal function was validated by measuring blood lithium, urea nitrogen (BUN), and thyroxine (T4) using inductively-coupled plasma mass spectrometry and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The kidneys were analyzed by laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) with 1064 nm ablation and 300-900 nm detection. Principal components analysis (PCA), radial visualization, and random forest classification were performed on the LIBS spectra for multi-element prediction and classification. Lithium at 0.34 mmol/L was detected in the blood of lithium treated subjects only. BUN was increased (6.6 vs. 5.3 mmol/L) and T4 decreased (58.12 vs. 51.4 mmol/L) in the blood of lithium subjects compared with controls, indicating renal abnormalities. LIBS detected lithium at 2.3 mmol/kg in the kidneys of lithium subjects only. Calcium was also observed to be reduced in lithium subjects, compared with controls. Subsequent PCA observed a change in the balance of sodium and potassium in the kidneys. These are key electrolytes in the body. Importantly, partial least squares regression showed that standard clinical measurements, such as the blood tests, can be used to predict kidney electrolyte measurements, which typically cannot be performed in humans. Overall, lithium accumulates in the kidneys and adversely affects renal function. The effects are likely related to electrolyte imbalance. LIBS with machine learning analysis has potential to improve clinical management of renal side-effects in patients on lithium medication.
