Abstract:
A new three-level hysteresis current controller for single-phase H-bridge voltage source inverters (VSI) is proposed here. The proposed hysteresis current controller has successfully combined the advantage of the symmetrical unipolar carrier-based PWM and no dead-time effects. Under steady-state conditions, the current error will be confined within the inner band. When the commanded current step changes so that the current error exceeds the outer hysteresis band, the extreme voltage level is selected to force the current error towards zero quickly. Compared with the conventional three-level hysteresis current controller, the proposed hysteresis current controlled single-phase H-bridge voltage source inverters can further improve the inverter output current waveform. Simulated and experimental results have been given to demonstrate the validity and features of the novel hysteresis current controller with the improved switching scheme. © 2015 Chin. Soc. for Elec.
