Abstract:
Choosing pure nickel foil as the transition layer, Al/0Cr18Ni9Ti bimetallic composite is prepared with the vacuum warm compaction diffusion method under the condition of 480°C compaction temperature, 10 MPa pressure and 1.0×10-2 Pa vacuum. The structures and performances of the two bimetallic composite bonding interfaces and matrix are analyzed respectively with scanning electron microscope, X-ray diffractometer and Vickers microhardness scale. It is found that under the condition of diffusion bonding, three kinds of intermetallic compounds, Al3Ni2, Al3Ni and Al3Ni5, form in the Al/Ni interface less than 4 μm in thickness; and no intermetallic compound forms in the Ni/0Cr18Ni9Ti diffusion zone with about 8 μm in thickness.
