Abstract:
With the industry development, people are raised higher and higher noise and vibration comfort requirements, which initiated material company developing higher sound isolated material. In this paper, a new laminated glass sample from DuPont is investigated by using numerical models. Based on the analysis frequency and damping requirements from Dupont, LMS Virtual. Lab Finite Element Vibro-Acoustic Solver and Inter A.C Statistical Energy Analysis solver are both preferred for covering the full frequency band and considering the frequency dependent damping through damping loss factor definition. Based on these two numerical models, the laminated glass sample material Transmission Loss (TL) performance is investigated with these numerical models; Comparing with the test data from DuPont, both models shows very good results, SEA model is much more faster than FEA Model which can be used during the product concept design phase, but FEA model is much more accurate and good at for capturing the damping effect which can be used for product detail design and material basic research. The authors also present details related to the numerical models.
