Abstract:

© 2016, Dalian University of Technology. All rights reserved. The lifting relations for the reconstruction of the distribution functions of lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) from the macroscopic variables are compared. The single-relaxation-time (SRT) and multiple-relaxation-time (MRT) models with both first- and second- order expansions are studied. The results show that the lifting relations for SRT-LBM are more precise, but the relations for MRT-LBM are more stable. The differences between the first and second order models are small, For the MRT-LBM, the modified models should be used to insure the continuity of the velocity.
