Abstract:
A novel nonlinear robust controller based on the wide-area measurement system (WAMS) is proposed using the inverse system algorithm and linear matrix inequality technique. The controller not only takes into account time delays introduced by remote signals transmission in WAMS, but also eliminates the effect of wide-area information's incompleteness when not all generators are equipped with the phase measurement unit (PMU) on power system. Digital simulation Studies with respect to a four-machine system are conducted for various time delays of remote incomplete measured information. The results demonstrate that the nonlinear robust integrated controller (NRIC) has a significant potential in improving the dynamic performance and transient stability of power system.
