Abstract:
When a fault occurs in the power system with multiple DFIGs (doubly-fed induction generators), the control scheme and short circuit calculation model of the DFIGs are not all the same, thus affecting short circuit current distribution in the power system. This paper proposes a short circuit calculation method for the power system, involving the determination process of the DFIG control schemes. The control scheme of a DFIG mainly depends on its terminal voltage drop. In this paper, the influence of DFIG fault models under continuous excitation control and crowbar protection control on fault voltage distribution for the power system with a radial wiring structure is analyzed. According to the obtained voltage distribution characteristics, a determination method for the post-fault control schemes of the DFIGs is proposed. Then, by contrast with the system based on conventional synchronous generators, the node voltage equations and short circuit calculation program chart for the power system with DFIGs are given. At last, a power system with 6 DFIGs is simulated to verify effectiveness of the proposed determination method for DFIG control scheme and the short circuit calculation method. © 2019, Power System Technology Press.
