Abstract:
Molten Salt is often used as the thermal energy storage (TES) medium in solar power stations for its excellent properties, while the temperature is up to 500∼600, which makes the corrosion on materials of heat storage system a key problem. In this study, an exclusive (corrosion system of flowing molten NaNO3/KNO3 binary salt) experimental device was designed and built to investigate the corrosion dynamic characteristics of 304 stainless steel sample under the synergistic effect of different flow rate and time period for Crescent Dunes Tower Molten Salt concentrating Solar Power (CSP) plant in USA. And the micro corrosion morphology, corrosion product form and elements were explored by such measuring instruments as SEM, EDX and XRD to reveal the corrosion behavior and mechanism of 304 stainless steel in high temperature molten salt flow. © 2020, Science Press.
