Abstract:

An elliptical inlet nozzle is designed for the multi-blade centrifugal fan used in range hoods. The influence of the elliptical inlet nozzle on the aerodynamic performance of the multi-blade centrifugal fan is studied by numerical simulation. Compared with the traditional round inlet nozzle, the flow separation in the clearance of the inlet nozzle is weakened and the flow in the volute can be improved. The results show that compared with the original fan, the volume flow rate of the multi-blade centrifugal fan with elliptical inlet nozzle increases by 7.7%. © 2019, Science Press.
