Abstract:
Hydorgen is a promising clean renewable energy carrier. The premixed combustion of lean hydrogen enriched fuels is one of the vital methods to develop low-emission gas turbine with high performance. The present study was focused on the influence of hydrogen addition on the detailed flame structure of turbulent premixed Bunsen flames using CH4/H2/air mixture. The preheat zone, reaction zone and burned zone were experimentally measured with simultaneous CH2O/OH planar laser induced fluorescence (PLIF) technique. The flame thickness of preheat and reaction zone was extracted and statistical analysis were performed. The results show evident impact from hydrogen addition on the flame structure. Especially, the hydrogen broadens the reaction zone slightly but largely decreases the preheat zone thickness. © 2021, Science Press. All right reserved.
