Abstract:
Fast vacuum circuit breaker (FVCB) uses the electromagnetic repulsion actuator (ERM) as operation mechanism, which is vital to clear short-circuit fault quickly. In the process of designing ERM, it is the first step to obtain the motion characteristics of ERM under various design parameters by means of simulation. In this paper, a novel transient dynamics simulation (TDS) of FVCB was built, which can obtain the motion characteristics taking the effect of mechanical transmission, friction and connection into account. The TDS can also calculate the stress and strain of each part at the same time. In addition, A FVCB with electromagnetic repulsion actuator was described by the TDS, the motion characteristics and stress of fixed contact and moveable contact was gotten. © 2020 IEEE.
