Abstract:
In this paper, a quasilinear shallow water model for moderate-amplitude waves with the effect of underlying shear flow is derived from the governing equations in the two-dimensional incompressible fluid. Such a model serves as a highly nonlinear generalized Camassa–Holm equation, which is based on the choice of depth and is proceeded for the case of a linear shear. Moreover, the effects of non-zero vorticity and nonlocal higher nonlinearities on the variation of the depth are also investigated. © 2021 Elsevier Ltd
