Abstract:
The partial discharge (PD) detection in cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) power cable with current transducer (CT) was discussed. The suitable method to detect PD pulse signal in crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE) cable at VHF range was wide bandwidth CT fixed at accessories and data processing system based on mathematical skills. The CT served as PD sensor fixed at accessories reducing transmission loss of high frequency PD signals. The results showed that the sensitivity of PD system for sampling and processing key characteristics of PD pulse signals at center frequency of 20 MHz was 1 pC.
