Abstract:
Preparing process of carbon-nanotube cathode and vacuum package process of field-emission display is researched. A carbon-nanotube cathode with good field emitting character is prepared by a new synthesizing technique. Using as -grown carbon-nanotube film prepared by this technique as cathode, a field-emission display which can display simple figures and digits is developed. An elastic assembling technique is also developed to fabricate FED. The samples display high luminance at low drive voltage and the luminance is well proportional to drive voltage. This is very convenient for the realization of high luminance display and high gray-scale resolution in the future. The most important achievement of this project is that the continuous working life-time test of this sample have exceeded 5500 hours. This result proves that the stability of carbon-nanotube can meet the requirement of most commercial products.
