Abstract:
The moving granular bed filter is one of the most promising hot gas dust removal devices for integrated gasification-combined cycle (IGCC) and pressurized fluidized bed combustion-combined cycle (PFBC-CC). The flow pattern of moving granular bed is studied with the fluidization theory. It is found that the structures of filter and media circulation system have considerable influence on the filter performance. The pressure gradient on granular layer is the main factor affecting the flow pattern and pressure balance between gas streams. A moving granular bed filter system is fabricated and tested in a pilot-plant-scale gasifier. On account of a great deal of vapor in hot coal gas, the operating scheme is made to prevent vapor condensing. The experimental results show that the pressure balance between different currents is more easily obtained than in the old system. Moving granular bed filtration and granular medium regeneration can be carried out steadily in the condition of hot coal gas. The overall collection efficiency is high up to 99.65%-99.80%, but the grade efficiency of fine particles should be improved further.
