Abstract:

It is no longer difficult to get remote information by relay protection in smart grid and it is also required that the settings of relay protection should follow the change of power network and the network should be strong, self-healing and high secure after fault is cleared. A new scheme of coordination between main and backup protections is presented. By applying the principle of absolute selectivity and multi-level information redundancy, the backup protection makes use of the state information from adjacent substations to reduce the number of backup relays and avoid complicated setting coordination. The theory and algorithm of optimal reclosing time based on the minimum unbalanced energy after the last operation is presented to reduce the impulse of reclosing operation on system. The six-phase complex reclose scheme with the post -fault system robustness as its objective is given for the parallel lines on same tower.
