Abstract:
Firstly, the hollow sphere green bodies were prepared using fly ash and mineral powder as raw materials, the fly ash contents were 12.5% (in mass), 25.0%, 37.5%, 50.0%, respectively. Then, the green bodies were sintered to prepare the porous ceramics. With the help of scanning electron microscope, X-ray diffraction, X ray fluorescence and electron probe micro analysis, the microstructures and composition of the samples were analyzed. The results show that the main phase of the precipitates porous ceramics is wollastonite, and the apparent density is increased with the mass ratio of fly ash. The ceramics with 25.0% fly ash and sintered at 1000℃ has an apparent density of 1.94 g/cm3and a compressive strength of 163.20 MPa. © 2015, Editorial Department of Journal of the Chinese Ceramic Society.
