Abstract:

Stability test of the axial compression of the circular tube members of 3 groups of 9 glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) was completed. The failure process and failure characteristics were observed, and the deformation, ultimate bearing capacity and failure mode of the components were analyzed. The finite element model of ANSYS was set up to analyze the ultimate bearing capacity of different sizes of GFRP circular tube members. A practical calculation formula of ultimate bearing capacity of GFRP circular tube members was derived, which is in good agreement with the experiment and the finite element analysis results. © 2016, Editorial Department of Journal of Building Materials.
