Objective: To evaluate IL-1β and TNF-α levels in the serum of Kaschin-Beck disease (KBD) patients with Meta-analysis. Methods: The literature on detection of IL-1β and TNF-α levels in KBD patients was comprehensively searched and qualified articles were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria using RevMan 5.2 software for Meta-analysis. Results: We included 8 articles involving totally 291 KBD patients and 300 healthy controls. IL-1β level was significantly higher in the KBD patients than in the healthy controls (SMD=1.55, 95% CI=0.73-2.37, P<0.000 01). TNF-α level in the KBD patients was also significantly higher than that in the healthy controls (SMD=2.49, 95% CI=1.49-3.49, P<0.000 01). Conclusion: IL-1β and TNF-α levels in KBD patients are significantly increased, but their role in KBD development still requires further study.
