Abstract:

This paper compares two types of three-phase transformerless unified power quality conditioner (UPQC) and analyzes their performance under different grid or load conditions. Unbalanced grid voltage or load current will cause the DC-side voltage imbalance with the traditional control strategy. Thus an improved control method is proposed to suppress the DC-side voltage imbalance, which is analyzed in detail. Finally, the correctness of the proposed method is verified by PLECS simulation. © 2018 IEEJ Industry Application Society.
