A novel multi-scroll chaotic generator: Analysis, simulation, and implementation EI SCIE Scopus CSCD

Abstract :

Based on a new three-dimensional autonomous linear system and designing a specific form of saturated function series and a sign function with two variables of system, which are employed to increase saddle-focus equilibrium points with index 2, a novel multi-scroll chaotic system is proposed and its typical dynamical characteristics including bifurcation diagram, Poincare map, and the stability of equilibrium points are analyzed. The hardware circuit is designed and the experimental results are presented for confirmation.

Abstract :

This paper presents a novel quadratic Boost converter with good features: no abruptly changing on capacitors' voltage and inductors' current in the whole switching cycle which can assure no instantaneous overcurrent or overvoltage on storage elements, non-pulsating input current that can make the input filter design easier, low current and voltage stress on power switch. The basic operating principles and the mathematical model of this novel quadratic Boost converter are presented. The steady state and the small signal dynamical behaviors are analyzed and the comparisons among other quadratic Boost converters are described and concluded. Finally, the Pspice simulations and the corresponding circuit experiments are presented for confirmation. (C) 2017 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Abstract :

In this study, a novel AC-DC bridgeless buck converter for power-factor-correction (PFC) applications with the inherent current-shaping ability and high PFC performance is proposed. Under a certain operation condition, dead zones in the proposed converter are reduced inherently compared with its conventional buck PFC counterpart, which result in higher PF and lower total harmonic distortion significantly. Furthermore, two rectifier diodes are eliminated, which contributes to efficiency. The detailed operation principle and theoretical analysis of discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) are presented. The simulation comparison between the conventional and proposed bridgeless buck PFC converter is also described. Finally, an experimental lab-made prototype operating in DCM is constructed to validate the feasibility of this proposed converter.

Abstract :

In this paper, a high step-up voltage gain AC-DC power-factor-correction (PFC) rectifier based on a transformerless switched-inductor converter is proposed for universal input applications. The proposed PFC converter features a very simple circuit structure, and it is designed to operate in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) with nature current-shaping ability, alleviated revise recovery current of diodes and a simple voltage control. A high output voltage is provided without operating at an extremely high duty ratio. In addition, the voltage stresses of power switches are lower than the output voltage, contributing to low cost and low loss of power switches. Finally, steady-state theoretical derivations are presented. Simulated results are provided to validate the effectiveness of this proposed PFC converter. © 2018 IEEE.

Abstract :

© 2018 by the authors. A new step-up converter with an ultrahigh voltage conversion ratio is proposed in this paper. Two power switches of such a converter, which conduct synchronically, and its output voltage, which has common ground and common polarity with its input voltage, lead to the simple control circuit. No abrupt changes in the capacitor voltage and the inductor current of the proposed step-up converter mean that it does not suffer from infinite capacitor current and inductor voltage. Two input inductors with different values can still allow the proposed step-up converter to work appropriately. An averaged model of the proposed step-up converter was built and one could see that it was still fourth-order even with its five storage elements. Some theoretical derivations, theoretical analysis, Saber simulations, and circuit experiments are provided to validate the effectiveness of the proposed step-up converter.

Abstract :

Based on the conventional buck converter and the switched network, this study presents a new DC-DC buck-boost converter. The proposed buck-boost converter can realize high step-down gain when the duty cycle D is smaller than 0.414 and high step-up gain when D ranges from 0.414 to 0.5. Meanwhile, the proposed converter possesses continuous output current which makes the output filter unnecessary. Continuous and discontinuous conduction mode analyses are detailed presented. Finally, some SIMetrix simulations are implemented to verify the proposed buck-boost converter's effectiveness and feasibility.

Abstract :

In this paper, a novel buck-boost converter with the voltage gain of D-2/(1-D) is proposed. Besides high step-down gain, the merits of the proposed buck-boost converter include that the input terminal and the output terminal share the same ground, the output voltage is positive, and the voltage stresses on the power switches and the diodes are low. The operating principles, the steady-state analyses, and the small-signal model are presented and analyzed. Finally, the PSIM simulations and the circuit experiments are implemented to validate the proposed buck-boost converter.

Abstract :

In recent years, memristor has been emerging as a hot research. Many electrical devices have been found to possess the features of memristor. Therefore, to supply power source to memristive devices will be a meaningful work. This paper investigates a voltage controlled H-bridge inverter with memristive load. PSIM simulations show that low frequency oscillation will occur if the circuit parameters are not appropriate, and its oscillation frequency will be lower than the line frequency. Finally, experimental results are presented to verify the simulations and theoretical analysis.

Abstract :

A novel bridgeless Buck power factor correction (PFC) converter with only half dead zones is proposed in this paper. The operation of the proposed PFC converter can be divided into two different modes including Buck mode in positive line cycles and Cuk mode in negative line cycles. Compared with the bridge or bridgeless Buck PFC converter, only half dead zones occur in this proposed PFC converter under the same input and output voltage leading to a higher power factor (PF). This bridgeless PFC converter is designed to work in discontinues conduction mode (DCM). The comparison of performance between the conventional Buck PFC converter and this novel PFC converter has been presented by PSIM simulations and experiments.

Abstract :

High step-up converter, which is constructed by the charged pump and Boost converter, is a good topology since it possesses a high voltage conversion ratio and a good and robust performance of regulation. This paper contributes to establish the improved small signal model of this high step-up converter and analyze its dynamical behaviors. By taking into account of the abruptly changing on the voltage across the charge pump capacitor and the relationship between the two inductor currents, the improved small signal model which overcomes the drawbacks of its existing small signal models is derived. Its input-to-output transfer function is obtained and validated preliminary by PSIM simulations. Finally, the circuit experiments are presented for confirmation.
