Abstract:
In co-generation of methanol and electricity systems, complex component and thermal NOXpuzzles the combustion of the synthesis gas. To stabilize the combustion, 45 kinds of γ-alumina-supported catalysts have tested in a fixed bed quartz reactor. The results show that Pd, Cr, Cu, Mn, Co, Fe and Ce catalysts have high activity during methane combustion. The proper active metal amount is 15 %Cr, 15%Cu, 15%Mn, 10 %Fe and 30%Ce in weight. Compare with non catalytic combustion, the 10% conversion temperature (T10) can decrease 200-500K and 90% conversion temperature (T90) decrease 100-450K. Moreover, the CO productive rate in methane combustion is decreased from 40% to less than 7%. In CO oxidation, T10decreases 350-550K and T90decreases 140-550K. The following reaction order has established for the combustion of the synthesis gas: Pd>CO>Cr>Cu>Fe>Mn.
