Abstract:
Perovskites are promising candidates for use in catalytic combustion applications. In the present study, La(1-x)Ag(x)MnO(3) (x = 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4) were prepared by the citrate method and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and specific surface area (SSA) measurement. The activity was tested in a fixed bed quartz reactor with eras hourly space velocity (GHSV) of 48000 h(-1). Combustion of methane, hydrogen, CO and the synthesis gas was investigated. The results showed that La(0.7)Ag(0.3)MnO(3) achieved the highest catalytic activity and specific surface area (SSA), with regard to other catalysts in single combustible gas combustion. The methane conversion temperatures changed slightly in the hydrogen addition experiment using perovskite catalysts.
