Abstract:
A method of zinc oxide (ZnO) mixing is presented in order to improve low lightness and bad uniformity of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) filed emission display. The paste was synthesized by mixing Multi-walled CNTs, ZnO and organic vehicle, and the ZnO-CNT samples are fabricated with screen-printed technology. Compared to usual CNT film with same printing area, the turn-on electric field of ZnO-CNT film decreased from 2.2V/μm to 1.17V/μm, and emission current increased from 185μA to 510μA under 2.2V/μm. Moreover, stability and uniformity of emission current is enhanced. By characterizing ZnO-CNT film via SEM and laser granularity analyze, it is evaluated that ZnO filled the interspaces of CNTs or covered topside of CNTs, high electric conductivity and thermal conductivity of the film are achieved, and active emitters increased. Hence better field emission characteristics are achieved.
