Abstract:
Because of the promising merits of water's dealing with wastes at supercritical temperatures and pressures, which are difficult to break down by conventional means such as incineration, supercritical water oxidation has been widely concerned. More and more full-scaled commercial SCWO facilities have been built around the world. Nevertheless, corrosion of the materials in fabrication is a serious problem, which greatly hinders the commercial application of the technology. The paper reviews the corrosion control methods. Besides that, a summary of parameters influencing corrosion, which is divided in solution parameters and material parameters, is also included. Finally, several perspectiveson the direction of future research in this area will be given in the end.
