Abstract:
Along with the wide use of XLPE power cable in the electrical power system, its test engineering and test method have been becoming more and more important. The paper introduces a kind of oscillatory wave voltage test system based up on oscillatory wave theory and its research status at home and abroad, discusses its application in the withstand voltage test and partial discharge detection of power cables. It is proved that oscillatory wave voltage have good equivalence with alternating voltage, and compared with alternating voltage and very low frequency voltage (0.1 Hz), it has some advantages such as shorter operating time and easier operation and so on. It can find most kinds of defects in XLPE power cable effectively, and dose no harm to the cable, so it has a good future.
